I have lived in Hesperia for about 14 years. I am tired of hearing about how we want to keep it rural. I personally welcome expansion and attracting as many national chains as we can get. For the first time my street is not full of potholes and any unsightly graffiti is removed almost immediately. We have a beautiful new Library and City Hall. In order to keep progressing forward tax dollars are needed. If you want rural maybe its time to move to Lucerne Valley. There you will find plenty of dirt roads, a few coyotes and lots of tumbleweeds.

Why add more food chains?

Are you just a passer bye who , visits Las Vegas everyweekend and wants a better selection Food, or do use Bear Valley road and love the fact that is takes 15min just to cross the Freeway :)

The City has a host of Food choices, :)

now if TGIF is offering $15.00 and hour to hel[p the youth and the poverty , then great we welocome that . We dont want The high Desert , LA`s pass through like it is now, we want to be known as a community .

I am all for a Trader Joe's up here somewhere that is accessible from the freeway (like around Main Street or Amargosa near "restaurant row." Looking forward to two or three more Sonic Burgers since the wait has gone from 2-1/2 hours down to 45 minutes to get in, we still have not been privy to eat there!!! I am all for the conveniences close by, especially with gas prices sky-high!!!! I like the new, more classy buildings being constructed, also. Too bad the streets are unable to keep up!!!

Let's first figure out how all those residents moving into the new and apparently never ending apartments east of the railroad, are going to be able to leave in an emergency, before we worry about any more food establishments.

If you can't get to them, having them will not be an issue!

I think the retail explosion is great, the city needs the revenue. Maybe they can afford to repair the terrible roads.

I think we need a bigger Police force. With the growth came an enormous rise in crime. The " MESA " used to be really nice and quiet, it is still probably one of the better areas, but it has gone through major changes in the last 5 years. I see gangbangers ( some just "wanna be's" , but they all look and act the same ) on the Mesa all the time now. The majority are Hispanic. I was driving down the street with my family the other day and drove by a Hispanic male ( gangbanger look and attitude ) about 15 years old, urinating in public right out in the open, next to the street. He also appeared to be under the influence of something. I had words with him, probably didn't make much of a difference and I didn't have a phone to call Hesperia Police with. I told this guy that this was my neighborhood and that he needed to stop the bull#@$!. When I moved here 12 years ago , it was all that I could afford, but it was nice here then. Over the years my home has become very affordable. Now it looks like I need to move to a better area and return to point A, spending all of my money on a house. City Hall has allowed the growth up here which has brought the quality of life down. All of the high desert has allowed too much growth. Water costs are on the rise, city planners knew this would be a problem. We didn't get an increase in the Police force, once again , city planners knew this would also be an issue.

I believe there should be a moratorium on all building. The building scenario of buildings has gotten out of hand a long time ago. Ranchero Road was supposed to have been put through to the freeway about twenty (20) years ago. Money has been allocated for this, how many times now. As far as I know, at least three times (3). Houses were condemned, bulldozed and the land sits vacant, bad move, since nothing else was ever accomplished toward putting through Ranchero Road from Lake Arrowhead to Freeway 15.
Since this has been so long in coming about, why not just do that project first, then go on re-finishing all the other roads in Hesperia as needed. In other words, get your hands out of our pockets and do the work the money has already been issued for.
As for the letter that was received in our mail this week concerning the applauding some of the city workers for a job well done ... not until the job is well done will you receive my, "job well done."
I truely believ this is a waste of my time as I do not beleive anyone from the City of Hesperia will read this much less act on it.
